Q. Why can't I call you? I just have a quick question about your training philosophy.
A. The philosophy of dog training in one of my favorite subjects and Dr. Bernie Rollin Ph.D provides the foundation of my beliefs. Read his book Animal Rights and Human Obligations and we'll go to dinner. Until then, let's discuss with email without messages and call backs.
Q. How can I tell if you have what I need? Don't I need to talk to you in person?
A. My website does a good job of outlining my services and the kinds of classes I teach. If you need clarification hit the send button on my email addrss and clarification comes back.
Q. I'd like you to talk to my husband. He thinks he can train the dog himself but so far, things aren't going well. Don't you think you can talk to him and convince him to come to class?
A. Yikes. No.
Q. My dog is special. I need to talk to you to explain about him. I can't do that in an email.
A. Right on the first and wrong on the second. You bet your dog is special and one of a kind, as well. Wrong that you cannot tell me about him in email. Aw go on...write me about your pet and make believe you are Elizabeth George. Everyone likes a good mystery.
Q. You really don't return a call from an interested client? Isn't that bad business?
A. Nope. It's smart business to return all inquiries promptly and email is the most convenient and least intrusive way to do that. It's a lot easier to read about help than to listen to it on your cell phone while driving the kids to school.
Q.Well, Ok then. I got your name from three people and my vet. So, I should send you an email?
A. Yes! You win! And your pet wins when he gets to class with other loved pets, lays down on his training bed, chews on a cow ear and learns like he's Lassie, Benji and Trigger all rolled into one. Oh...maybe not Trigger.....
